A shocking and brutal allegation has surfaced against a madrasa teacher in Lohagara Upazila, Chattogram. Police have arrested a man named Belal Uddin on charges of abducting a 10-year-old student and confining him in a residential hotel to rape him. The arrest was made during a raid at a hotel in Chakaria Municipality, Cox’s Bazar, in the early hours of Saturday (July 12).
Details of the Crime and Arrest
The accused, Belal Uddin (35), is the son of Nurul Alam from Sheelkhali Sabujpara area in Barbakhiya Union, Pekua Upazila, Cox’s Bazar. He worked as a teacher at a Qawmi madrasa in Lohagara, where the victim was also a student.
According to police sources, on Friday (July 11) afternoon, Belal Uddin abducted the child from the madrasa premises and took him to a hotel in Chakaria. There, he confined the boy and sexually assaulted him. After the rape, the teacher allegedly threatened to kill the child if he disclosed the incident to anyone.
Police Investigation and Case
The victim’s family filed a case at the Lohagara Police Station on Saturday afternoon. Following the complaint, police swiftly conducted a raid and arrested Belal Uddin from the hotel in Chakaria.
Lohagara Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arifur Rahman told reporters that preliminary investigations have uncovered clear evidence of rape. The probe revealed that the accused had sexually assaulted the child multiple times even before the abduction. The victim’s statement and CCTV footage from the hotel have been crucial in the investigation.
